From the collection of Dr. L. Ramskold, ex Vosper FPL 101, May-June 1998, 89.
This emission was one of three examples presented by Ramskold (Aborted production [2020b]) as indicating withdrawal of coinage struck for Crispus after his fall and
damnatio memoriae. The high withdrawal rate of circa 50% of the bronzes struck for Crispus indicates that this emission was produced for the conclusion of Constantine's vicennial year in July 326 rather than at its beginning. The dynastic bronzes from Trier were copied in unofficial workshops, producing large quantities of imitations of varying quality. Bruun (in RIC VII) unknowingly included such copies in his entries of dynastic bronzes from both Trier and Rome, as detailed by Ramskold (Constantine's vicennalia [2013]). RIC Trier 486 and 487 are such unofficial copies.
